Wind-blown Sound
It's a windy day, but sunny with it, and I'm enjoying the breeze bringing inside the wind chime's tones.
Chime On!
Ding, ding, ding
or ting, ting, ting - either way
a marvelous melody
made up of mankind’s works
the work of Nature too.
Wind-chimes without wind?
mere things, unneeded
useless stuff. Wind without
chimes - can annoy ...
Put together? Absolute bliss!

I’m loving the wind chimes today. It’s winter in my part of the world, South Australia, and while it’s still cold, I’m happy to have the window open to the breeze, which isn’t blowing from the colder southerly direction today, but is more a warmer north westerly breeze.
And so I’ve left the backdoor open, with just the flyscreen door open, so the music from the wind-chimes can come into the house when I am sitting, and typing … It is an enjoyable thing for sure.
Some people find wind-chimes annoying, but not me, I love them! One thing about winter is having to close the door to the winds outside, to help keep the inside of the house from being frigid, but today, I’m happy enough to be a little cool. Hearing those chimes makes the cool seem acceptable, and I know I’ll be heading off soon enough, to get on with a bit of housework type stuff.
After that, some shopping, and then after that walking my dog around my nearest where the shopping will be done. Then home again, drop off shopping and dog, and head off for my writing group meeting.
I love my writing group. We meet once a week, and a hotel, with food and drinks available if wanted. I’ve done my homework, and am looking forward to doing the writing exercise at the meeting, after reading out my homework done, from last week.
I used that homework prompt to write a little bit more of my novel, so I’m happy about that. I hope I can do the same with the writing prompts given today. This is not a quick way to write a novel, but it’s a stress free way - the only deadline is the one I’ve given to myself, which is simply to finish this first Cosy Murder Mystery Novel some time …
And once this first one is done, I hope I’ll be quicker with the next one, and the one after that, etc. I have titles, and ideas about up to twenty of this series of novels, I just need to get on and write them!
Poetry is so much easier, and I feel I would be a better novelist if I hadn’t ever written any poetry. By ‘better’ I mean better able to get on and get the work finished. I can do that with a poem in an hour or even less time, but a novel? That can take years, as I well know, because this novel I’m writing has already taken that long, and I’m only halfway finished …
Not to worry, I’m having fun with my characters, and the story, so that’s more important really. The world has plenty of novels already, and it won’t matter if I never finish this one, except some of my friends want to read it, so I suppose it matters a little bit …
Ah, friends, I love them! So I should write some more of that novel, get it written, get it ‘out there’! And to do that, I’d better finish up this piece, get on with what I have to have done, before that meeting!
Thanks for reading!
